  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to highways; requiring the commissioner of 
  1.3             transportation to transfer certain easements to the 
  1.4             city of Faribault. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION; TRANSFER OF 
  1.7   EASEMENTS.] 
  1.8      Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the commissioner 
  1.9   of transportation, after reaching agreement with the city on the 
  1.10  terms and conditions of the transfer, but not later than 
  1.11  December 31, 1997, shall transfer to the city of Faribault all 
  1.12  easements within the city that the commissioner acquired to 
  1.13  relocate marked trunk highway No. 218 within the city but that 
  1.14  are no longer needed for that purpose. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective on approval by the Faribault city 
  1.17  council and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.18  subdivision 3.
