609.805 TICKET SCALPING.
    Subdivision 1. Definition. "Event" means a theater performance or show, circus, athletic
contest or other entertainment or amusement to which the general public is admitted.
    Subd. 2. Acts constituting. Whoever intentionally does any of the following is guilty of a
misdemeanor:
(1) issues or sells tickets to an event without printing thereon in a conspicuous place the price
of the ticket and the seat number, if any; or
(2) charges for admission to an event a price greater than that advertised or stated on tickets
issued for the event; or
(3) sells or offers to sell a ticket to an event at a price greater than that charged at the place of
admission or printed on the ticket; or
(4) having received a ticket to an event under conditions restricting its transfer, sells it
in violation of such conditions; or
(5) being in control of premises on or in which an event is conducted, permits the sale or
exhibition for sale on or in such premises of a ticket to the event at a price greater than printed
thereon.
    Subd. 3. Exception. The provisions of subdivisions 1 and 2 shall not prohibit charging a
fee for services rendered in connection with the sale of a ticket to an event if the fee is permitted
pursuant to a contract between the ticket seller and the promoter of an event.
