A bill for an act
 relating to state government; establishing a heating and cooling policy for
building projects funded with state appropriations; proposing coding for new law
in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

BUILDINGS.

new text begin Geothermal and other renewable energy applications must be considered for heating
or cooling for all building projects subject to a predesign review under section 16B.335
that receive any state funding for replacement or initial installation of heating or cooling
systems.

cooling or heating system replacement or installation in buildings that are constructed or
maintained with state funds that are subject to predesign review on or after that date.
